Attention Nintendo Wii Owners! Here’s How To Copy Wii Games

There’s no question that the Nintendo Wii has taken the video game industry by storm. It was nearly impossible to find one this past Christmas and the units continue to fly off the shelves. Recently, we have received a lot of emails from people wondering how they can copy Wii games right on their computer.

Since we keep getting this question, we decided to put together a quick guide on how to copy Wii games right on your own computer.

Most of you have probably burned a CD or possibly even a DVD before. This type of burning software is automatically included with almost all computer systems now. However, it won’t make copies of your video games.

Why? Because video game discs have a form of protection that stops these programs from being able to make copies. When you insert the game discs in your computer your PC doesn’t know how to “read” them.

Have no fear though! There are companies that have developed specific game-copying software that will let you copy Wii games. The software uses a special technology that is able to bypass the copyright protection and allows your copmuter to “make sense” of the disc.

So how does it work?

It’s incredibly simple. First, you insert the game disc and wait while the program makes an “image” of the disc on your hard drive. Next, you insert a blank disc that your computer will burn this image onto. When it is finished, you are left with an exact copy of the game.

This type of software not only lets you copy Wii games, but you can also make copies of Xbox 360, PS3 and literally any other game disc that you have. It’s nice to have just one program that will work for all the games systems you have.

Once you get in the habit of copying Wii games it’s a good idea to make a copy of any game you have. This way you don’t have to worry about losing or damaging the original game disc. Your backup copies will work just like the originals and can be made directly from your own computer. All the best!
